Property limits of breast cancer
US study stresses the need to use it for a period of 10 years to get positive results
Modern
American study suggested that dealing with survivors of breast cancer
drug tamoxifen for 10 to 15 years instead of 5 years ago, as now, to
avoid the risk of emergence of the disease.
In
this study, recently published in the journal the Lancet, showed that
patients who took the drug for 10 years were less prone to disease or
death, compared with women who used the property for a period of 5
years.
He
said the study author Professor Richard Peto of Oxford University: "we
waited for the results of much relevance to breast cancer patients".
The
Dr. Robert Carlson, a Professor of medicine at Stanford University, to
this group of ladies who were undergoing drug therapy for 5 years,
representing nearly five to one-quarter of new cases of the disease.
According

Drug
tamoxifen works to stop the effects of estrogen, which is a tumor
growth in women who suffer from a type of cancer by estrogen positive

The
drug tamoxifen has side effects, the possibility of endometrial cancer,
blood clots, hot flashes, and that might make many women stopped taking
the drug before the end of the planned five years previously.
However,
some specialists believe that the benefits of the drug still outweigh
its drawbacks, therefore advised to adopt the results of that study.
