Survivors of cardiac arrest suffered mental problems

Recent research said that a quarter of the cases of cardiac arrest survivors suffer long-term mental problems, such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress.

Researchers from Virginia Commonwealth University of America reviewed eleven studies included mental health problems following cardiac arrest, and lasted eight years.

And concluded that one third of those were cases of cardiac arrest suffered from depression, while nearly two-thirds concerned.

And the surprise was the prevalence of post-traumatic stress that struck between 17 to 20% of survivors of cardiac arrest.

It must be said that if cardiac arrest occurs when the heart stops suddenly and totally, and is different from the others, often known as heart attacks.

In the case of cardiac arrest, often result in death unless a heart to work quickly, or damage in brain cells in case of escape from death.

The cause of the development of cardiac arrest survivors of mental diseases is unclear, as the survivors-by researchers from that situation.

Anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress of the main concerns after cardiac arrest, researchers are advised that the correct diagnosis when the physician to avoid any complications.

To prevent cardiac arrest, regular exercise, and a healthy and balanced diet, and avoid smoking and maintain a normal blood pressure
