Waist circumference determines the risk of diabetes





Define obesity as one of the leading causes of diabetes, a British study has shown that waist circumference may serve as early warning bell to the risk of diabetes, says the study, waist size, it may be useful to identify those most susceptible to the disease among those who suffer from increased weight and obesity.

The specialists of the University "adenbrok" in the United Kingdom, measure waist size and body mass index (BMI) to 30,000 euro in average age and followed them for about 17 years. Researchers found that participants with a slight increase in weight and have a great lap around 40 inches for males and 35 inches for women, at the beginning of the study, are more likely to develop type II diabetes.

Ten years later, seven per cent of the participants, 4.4 per cent of the participants in the study, those who suffer from increased weight and their waist circumference increased, diabetes, and a comparison of the researchers to link the trio between diabetes and body mass index and waist size, the scientists found that the latter is closely linked to the disease.
